A list of things that at first make you stare... but then make you laugh and think "that is so Thai". It's just small list right now, but I'm planning on expanding it throughout the year as more things come up!
Only in Thailand...
- will there be 2 roads running parallel about 20m apart for 1/2 an hour, rather than join to make a highway.
- do people give you funny looks if you put on your seatbelt.
- will you see a family of 4 riding a motorcycle, and the only reason the last person is holding on, is because he has literally no seat room.
- will a driver doze off while driving 140km/h and end up perfectly fine.
- can you see a 10-year-old driving a motorcycle down the freeway.
- will you see 3 monks all riding together on a motorcycle.
- is it physically impossible to explain the concept of "hiking" ... because... only poor people walk because they don't have cars, right?
- are people amazed to hear that some places in the world have songs you can actually understand (because all the music here is either Korean, English, or "old Thai").
